Sea freight to and from Rotterdam and Antwerp

  • Port agent in Rotterdam and Antwerp

  • Import, export and cross trade

  • Integrated agent in India

FCL or LCL: which fits your shipment?

For destinations within Europe we also arrange short sea sailings between the seaports themselves. From the quay your container can continue inland by barge or rail, see the Rail & Barge page.
  • FCL: full container

Your cargo fills a complete container. Alongside standard 20ft and 40ft containers we arrange reefers for temperature controlled cargo, and flat racks and open tops for pieces too tall, too wide or too heavy for a closed container.

    • Faster than LCL
    • Lower risk of damage
    • One rate per container
  • LCL: shared container

Your cargo is consolidated with other shipments in one container. Cost effective at smaller volumes, and for importers who prefer to order more often in smaller quantities rather than tie up capital in a full load.

    • Affordable at low volume
    • Frequent sailings
    • No minimum quantity
Sea freight through our own port agency
From Rotterdam and Antwerp we handle import, export and cross trade, dealing directly with terminals, carriers and inland operators. Documents are issued in house, customs is managed in both directions, and our integrated agent in India keeps control at the load port.
  • Port agent, not intermediary

We deal with terminals, carriers and inland operators directly.

  • Our own house bill of lading

Documents issued in house, so release and corrections never wait on a third party.

  • Customs, both directions

Import and export clearance managed end to end through our brokers.

  • Integrated agent in India

Works in our systems and issues our HBL, with control at the load port.

  • Cross trade

Shipments between two foreign ports, such as Livorno to Brunswick, with control staying with us.

  • Demurrage prevention

We start clearance before arrival or before loading, so demurrage, detention and storage are avoided.

Your cargo, our experience

We know the documentation, the procedures and the pitfalls that come with your sector.

Trade lanes

Europe

Within Europe capacity is rarely the problem, but documentation and excise requirements differ per country and that is easily underestimated. We combine road, short sea, rail and barge, and advise which combination fits your delivery window and your budget.

North America

The United States applies strict advance filing rules, including ISF and AMS, with data due before loading rather than on arrival. We arrange those filings and ship steel regularly into Savannah and New Orleans and machinery through Brunswick on RoRo, including cross trade loaded at European ports outside the Netherlands.

Asia & Middle East

Asia is our main origin region and also where much of our cross trade runs: shipments such as Mundra to Port Klang that never touch a European quay. Our integrated agent in India negotiates rates and keeps control at the load port. In the Middle East we work through established agents and our G7 and UCN networks.

Africa

Across Africa, regulations, port capacity and inspection regimes vary widely and change at short notice. Local knowledge decides whether cargo moves or sits. We work through vetted network partners who know the port and the authorities, and who handle our embassy shipments to West and East Africa.

South America

Longer transit times, seasonal peaks and demanding customs procedures call for planning well ahead. We book early, keep documentation complete from the outset and keep you informed while the cargo is at sea.

  • Case: Urgent food shipment, off the terminal within 48 to 72 hours

On an urgent shipment several things have to be arranged at once. We request release from the carrier, have the direct representation authorisation and, where needed, the limited fiscal representation set up through our customs broker, have the declaration filed and line up the onward transport. Because those steps run alongside each other, the container does not wait for one step to finish before the next begins.

    The result

From notification to a container on chassis within 48 to 72 hours, inside the free days.
